What software to use with the Kodak Zi8

hi all because i am no longer using sony vegas and because a few of you have asked me i decided to look to see if i could find some editing software that would work with the kodak Zi8. the best i found was: Movie Edit Pro 14 & 15 Corel Video Studio pro x2 Pinnacle Studio v14 these where the cheapest and the best for what you pay. sorry about the jumps. i am using movie edit pro 14 and i am not used to it yet. one thing to note, this video was imported straight from my kodak zi8. i didnt have to convert i just edited straight from the kodak. also the file was only 22 mb. not bad. hope you enjoy. what is the difference of Silver, the box,?
you get 99 tracks. improved camcorder support. surround sound, native AVCHD editing, audio mastering suite, but to name a few. there is a full comprassion on the magix website
black cover states MEP 14 plus. lol so I guess silver would say the same, guess not.
I think so, I ended up buying the plus version though…
the plus is the extras, and is what I enjoy of the editer
i agree. i got the plus just in case i needed to use the extras. butter to have it than not
I wasable attimes to get thecolleges to work, they are located under effects in the center you’ll see roots leading to the plugins
Windows Movie maker won’t play H.264 (MOV), AAC LC but Windows live Movie Maker will play and you will be able to edit the video just fine! One more thing all this softwares using CPU encoding.. that’s not a problem for people with Quad Cores or i7.. but for those of you who’s got dual core or laptops better use GPU encoding but you video card has to be supported by that Technology. Nvidia or Ati they both have technology to encode HD video using your video card not you CPU.
Powerdirector 8 supports GPU encoding.. i can encode and edit 1GB 720P video with this software in 30min.. without closing my browser. I’m surfing the internet, watching youtube hd video clips.. while my video encoding Amazing.. Thanks to Ati stream technology.. you guys should look for video editing software supported by Stream Or CUDA technology.. using your CPU to encode the video THAT IS sooo 2009!
and all that on my 2.1Ghz 4Gb of ram HD3200 400 dollars laptop

I have successfully edited the Zi8′s HD MOV files with Pinnacle Studio HD 14, it works well. I am also planning to test Magix movie edit pro plus. I like all the features it offers, it looks like it may be fun to use.

Nixer, i have pinnacle HD 14 also, but when i add my movies into it the film clip is laggy and is nearly impossible to work with. Please inform me of how you got around this issue
yo chris i purchased my first video camera ever.. the zi8 and love it, then i purchased sony vegas 9 and fell in love with it, then after editing, learning basic features parts of my videos were black, i am so upset right now, looks like ill be converted my .mov’s from the zi8 format to something else, what would you recommend converted the vids to/app to convert?
the best converter is Quicktime pro. it converts the file quite quickly and you keep most of the quality. it is to expensive either.

I only have a 1.6 dual core CPU so struggle to edit my Zi8 videos. Do you know which products offer proxy editing which may provide me with a solution?
movie edit pro should work. the min requirements is 1.3 dual core. also theres Avid Xpress Pro. that says 1.6. not sure about proxy editing.
how about in Pentium 4 ?? 2gb of ram and 128mb of video card ??
your video card might cause some problems. i have a 1gb 3d video card and a dual core 2.6ghz motherboard with 3 gb of memory. even with this computer i sometimes have issues.
