If you want a editing software that almost like Final Cut on windows, then Adobe Premiere gonna be the answer.

Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro are 97 percents similar. Just the change the keyboard shortcut setting and you can use it almost like Final Cut Pro.

Oh yeah for additional info, those two were designed by the same person ;)

adobe premiere pro with adobe after effects is what I use and its pretty powerful. Premiere pro is for usual video editing but if used with after effects, you can create some sweet graphical effects. However, both have a very steep learning curve but there are a lot of tutorials on the internet

wait a bit. Adobe Premiere CS5 is coming out in a few months so maybe you can get a deal for CS4 or if you can afford it get CS5 (note that you need a powerful computer with a dedicated graphics card to use it to its full extent)

    Hey Katelin,

    I would recommend trakAxPC Pro.

It’s a really good, user-friendly and inexpensive video editing software which allows you to edit and mix any combination of audio, video and photos. You can do split screen, reverse, slow-motion, effects, text etc, plus upload your video directly to YouTube through the application.

The top-ranked video edting software for PC:Ulead Video Studio, Adobe Premiere Elements and SonyVegas. But I think they are recommended for experienced users, they do take some learning and much more expensive.
If you are looking for something advanced but still user friendly with reasonable price,I will recommend DVD Slideshow Builder. Very easy to use with professional features and same sort of layout as Movie Maker however a lot more powerful.Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction.
