Most like Sony Vegas 8.
Warning, this software is VERY complicated and takes a lot of time to learn how to use it properly.
There are also some very good video softwares from Adobe, but I’m not 100% sure on what the software is called, sorry.
I would suggest Adobe Premier, since you get cool features. If you are interested in a Chroma-key/Green-screen video editing software, I would suggest EditStudio 6.
Pinnacle software is the best for video-editing. Go to their site, and check out the one that fits best for you. Professional and TV- station quality editing is available on Pinnacle only. You are sure to find one that fits your needs. They’re not cheap in any case… Good luck!
Windows Movie Maker is good for doing basic to intermediate type work. Has bunch of cool effects like fade-in/fade-out, side-by-side comparisons, title page etc. I have worked on videos of 12 mins length and was able to do a decent job using Windows Movie Maker.
What will really determine what software is best for you, is dependent upon what you want to do with it. Before you spend your hard earned cash, do some research. This article may help you to decide which is best for you.
