Try MPEG Video Wizard DVD, it works well on windows 2000 and it can do a lot of editing things, such as edit out commercials, add video effects/filters, fix a/v sync problems, make dvd discs and much much more.

Hmmph, that’s weird WMM should work, did you try the early versions. I am sure there is an early version that should work on WMM. Something like WMM 2.1 or earlier. There are other editing software, i am not sure if it will work on 2000 though, but try Sony Vegas or Adobe After Effects. Adobe CS4 might work.

Hey there, ditto the same problem. if you have some software designed for only Windows XP/Vista etc. try and install it on Windows 2000 since W2K is worked on the same codebase.

Look back at software pre-2006; most software before then normally works as far back as Windows 98.

Whilst I came across some "backward" editing software in my stash, i came across Pinnacle Studio 9…

…Which Ive been told to avoid like the plauge, but its the only one I can vouch for… it’s not so bad :)
