Why would you want to convert your video you ask? Well as we know some editing software is unable to edit a specific kind of video format. So by converting it your video can be turned into a number of different formats that can now be edited in the video editing software. Plus some video files are big in size and will take up a lot of space on your harddrive, so it would be better to convert your videos to a smaller format that is smaller if you’re looking to save much needed space on the Harddrive. I got Sony Vegas 7 when my Dad bought a HD camera, and I have found it a very useful tool, especially when making videos for youtube. I made this tutorial on how to make a video using the programme as a bit of an experiment. It’s a nice change from Source SDK tutorials and this video would actually help my MUM if she wasn’t better at using this programme than I was. However, I’m sure there are plenty of other Mums out there who need helping when it comes to putting holiday clips on the internet- as well as thousands of people trying to make the next big computer game movie. This tutorial only shows the basics, I don’t like to over complicate tutorials, especially when people are finding a programme intimidating enough to use in the first place. I may make more, depending on how this video is received. RENDER TYPES 256 kbps – renders at 320 x 240, it’s also fuzzy and blocky, but will be fine for normal camera footage. Sound is also slightly muffled. But you can make a 10 minutes film about 10 mb in size, so it’s useful. 512 kbps – Double the size of 256 kbps, but it’s slightly sharper and the sound is much clearer. 3 mbps – 6 times larger than 512 kbps, but the quality is far better. It’s actually clearer than television footage, and I would recommend it for computer game recordings and HD footage when you’re not really that bothered with the quality. 4.2 / 5 / 6 mbps – 1280 x 720 resolution, also known as 720p, also used with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games. hi all because i am no longer using sony vegas and because a few of you have asked me i decided to look to see if i could find some editing software that would work with the kodak Zi8. the best i found was: Movie Edit Pro 14 & 15 Corel Video Studio pro x2 Pinnacle Studio v14 these where the cheapest and the best for what you pay. sorry about the jumps. i am using movie edit pro 14 and i am not used to it yet. one thing to note, this video was imported straight from my kodak zi8. i didnt have to convert i just edited straight from the kodak. also the file was only 22 mb. not bad. hope you enjoy.
