You can cut clips into two pieces two different ways. On the clip in the top section like normal and also on the timeline. I make a clip at top section a little larger than needed, like 2-10 seconds before and after whats wanted, plop it down and then trim it as needed directly on the timeline. The timeline can either CUT, or simply adjust by dragging. If you drag it will show a grey area above it, that means extra footage still is available for adjustments. Then Save em in a new project
Ive’ learned that it needs a second to process.
It works great now that I let it think before I smash another button…lol. No more crashing.
It does not like moving from titles to clips so extra care there helps.
just plop a video/audio on the timeline, hold and drag the audio line portion to the lowest audio track. It will now have the second line of audio. Ok, now right click and delete the upper video/audio and replace it with a 2nd track.
Now on the far left an icon will let you adjust the levels of the two tracks.

Sony Vegas! Windows Movie Maker is actually crap (no offence to those who use it because they can’t afford Vegas).
